MVP to production
Non-technical founder with an AI-built MVP? Here's your dev partner.
If you're a non-technical founder who built an MVP with AI — and now there are users, or investors, or a launch date — AI Cubed is the dev partner that takes it to production. We audit what you've built in two business days, explain every finding in plain English, and build the parts that make software safe to sell: auth, data protection, payments, deploy and monitoring. You own all of it. Most MVPs reach production in three to six weeks.

The hard part of this stage isn't the engineering. It's that you can't evaluate the engineering, and every developer you talk to says something different. So we lead with the checklist, not the code — you can hold us to a list.

most MVPs to production
demo of what changed, and why
Sounds familiar?
- "People are using it and I'm terrified something breaks and I can't fix it."
- "An investor asked about security and I don't know what to say."
- "Three developers quoted me. One said rebuild, one said it's fine, one wants a retainer. I can't tell who's right."
- "I can prompt features, but I can't tell if the thing is actually safe."
- "I need someone who'll explain it to me like I'm smart but not technical."
MVP versus production: the actual difference
"Production-ready" sounds vague. It isn't. This is the list, and it's the list we audit your MVP against.
| Area | MVP (works in a demo) | Production (works for strangers) |
|---|---|---|
| Sign-in | Works on the builder's laptop | Works on your domain, on phones, after refresh, with password reset and account deletion |
| Your users' data | Anyone logged in can technically read anything | Each user sees only their own; enforced in the database, not just hidden in the UI |
| Secrets and keys | Pasted wherever they were needed | Server-side only, per environment, rotated, never in the repo |
| Payments | Test mode works | One real live transaction reconciled end to end, webhooks verified, refunds handled |
| Errors | White screen | Sensible message to the user, an alert to you, a log you can read |
| Deploy | Whatever the AI tool hosts | A domain you own, separate staging and production, one-command rollback |
| Monitoring | You find out from a customer | You find out from an alert, in minutes |
| Data safety | Hope | Automatic backups you have tested restoring |
| Legal | None | Privacy policy and terms that match what the app actually does with data |
| Ownership | Accounts in someone else's name | Repo, hosting, domain and model accounts in yours |
How we work with non-technical founders
- Audit — two business days. You get a report with two columns: the technical finding, and what it means for your users and your launch in one plain sentence. Plus a fix-or-rebuild call and a fixed quote.
- Plan you can read — a launch checklist in the table above, with each row marked done, in progress or not started. That is your dashboard for the whole engagement.
- Build — three to six weeks for most MVPs. A weekly fifteen-minute demo of what changed and why, in your language, not ours.
- Hand over — everything in your name, a runbook a future hire can follow, and an honest note on what to build next and what to leave alone. Ongoing running is optional.
How to evaluate any dev partner — including us
- Ask who will actually write the code and whether they were on the first call.
- Ask for the launch checklist in writing before you sign. If they can't produce one, they don't have one.
- Ask whose name the accounts will be in. The only acceptable answer is yours.
- Ask what happens if they disappear. The answer should be "you have everything and a runbook."
- Ask for a fixed price for a fixed scope. An open hourly meter with no checklist is how MVPs become money pits.

How long and how pricing works
Most MVPs reach production in three to six weeks, with a date set at the end of the two-business-day audit. The audit is fixed price; the build is a fixed quote for a fixed checklist. Running it after launch is an optional monthly retainer. We'll give you a realistic range on a short call before the audit.
Who this is for — and not
Founders with an AI-built MVP that has users, revenue, investor attention or a real launch date. If you're still validating the idea and nobody has paid yet, keep prototyping — production engineering is a cost you should incur once, when it's earned. We'll tell you which side of that line you're on.
